Taiwan Trip ’09 -=Day 30=-

With only like 4 days remaining, Wing and I HAD to go up Taipei 101.

So that’s what we did today, we rose to the top!

After class that is anyway..

Since wing said Burger King was better in Taiwan, we tried that for lunch 😛

Anyway!

Wing says were going up THERE!

Wing says we're going up THERE!

As a bonus, on the way, across the street, I managed to see..

Wings cafe.. yep you saw it here first.

Wing's cafe.. yep you saw it here first.

So we kept walking, don’t need directions, just look up.

Pretty trees~

Went through the department store of 101 to get to level 5 (entrance)..

So the elevator goes from level 5 to 89 (the observatory level), in 37seconds, it’s labelled by Guiness World Records as the fastest elevator at 1010m/min. It’s smooth and stable and the lights inside dim out and the ceiling looks like a mini constellation.

So.. despite costing 400NT (~20AUD) it was well worth it I believe, and definitely a must see!

So here we go!

Looking down.. everybody looks like ants!

Pity that today was more foggy/misty/dirty LOL.

Inside is a Wind Damper which not only helps out strong winds but also stablises some earthquakes :P

You could go to level 91 to walk outside for a look.

So that ends it for today!

Here’s a bonus video of level 88:

In short, it’s just a digital projection of a long aerial shot of Taipei. If left alone it’s covered by “clouds” but when you step across it, the clouds disappear! And reform later, so cooool.

No angela, not freaky, COOL.
