Long day today! We were pretty much out from morning till about 12am.. So sleepy haha.
It’s Martin Luther King day so not everything was open today but depending on the area.. Seemed like a lot still were.
We started today with the 9/11 Memorial from Lower Manhattan and worked our way to uppertown.
Breakfast first! Bacon and eggs express man, made so fast, thrown to the cashier when done.
So as you may know they converted the area where the twin towers use to stand (ground zero) into 2 memorial ‘pools’..
Was really quick a nice design.
Had the names of the victims along the pools.
Had to drop by the head office because I was a bit curious. It’s actually got quite a nice lobby! Wish the Sydney one could be spruced up a bit.
Like the Lakers championship ring from 2010..better days.
They had a memorial set up too for the Amex employees lost from 9/11.
Afterwards we headed to Wall Street for a quick look.
Afterwards we headed uptown to grab some lunch at John’s Pizzeria (Brick Oven).
Which was recommended by the likes of.. Vanilla Ice lol and others.
Mmm very nice as well! Bit more crunch in the crust and base.
After lunch we went to the NBA store to have a look and get some gear for the game.
Not a bad range, too bad it’s the temporary store so I hope that’s why there’s a lack in variety per team.
We had to quickly rush to MSG, was meant to try meet up with Phil first but I failed. Sorry!
I won’t go on too much about this game.. Might overstretch the post a bit haha.
Was a great match up to see because it was another battle of New York. Good crowd and awesome arena. Too bad Knicks lost 😦
Went to have Shake Shack for dinner – see, told ya we’d be back!
We had a bit of time at night to do something so we went to Rockefeller plaza and observation tower.
Tried to get some night scenery shots.
Quite a view up there.. Just a pity it was so cold and windy.
Bit tricky to try panoramas with night and blur..
Afterwards we walked around the plaza a bit more and eventually went back.
Such a packed day.. Very sleepy now haha.
