You’ll have to excuse me for this post because the last recipe I wrote up was in primary school as part of those class exercises. Probably for Fairy Bread or something (the best).
Something a bit different this time for this series of food posts; a recipe. I think most of us feel like a homely meal is always the best despite the great food that’s out there. Food brings back memories and it’ll always have that link.
For me, a good bowl of Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup from mum has always been one of my favourite dishes and it would always be exciting when she cooks it. However it’s been years since she’s last cooked this and I don’t think she’ll be doing it again anytime soon so.. she’s tried passing it onto me!
It’s like having a master class! Gotta take notes..

Landed in Boston today but seriously I only had one thing in mind today.. The Bulls v Celtics game! Their last road trip game of the latest 9 I think.
So glad the schedules matched up. Would have loved to see them in United Center but that’s ok.
Before that but.
Not sure if you can tell but there are a lot of snow / ice patches around. Crazy, I can’t believe it’s colder than Chicago here.
Landed in Sydney around 12:50pm.
Too tired to update but, zzz.. haha.
Was an overall good holiday 🙂
I’ve kinda lost track as I’ve been away from Internet and in the country for awhile now.
I’m currently at a resort in Sun Moon Lake, very nice. Pity that it’s kind of foggy today.
A lunch/afternoon tea @ The LaLu.
Been in the country.
Went to Chia Yi on Sunday to Monday to see my Uncle’s family, good to see that they’re doing alright!
Had some great food and then Monday night we went to Er Lin (country side).
Have not been doing much because there isn’t too much to do hahaha.
Will be going to visit a popular Chinese tourist place: “Ri Yue Tan” (日月潭) – Sun Moon Lake on Saturday.
I might have to upload those photos when Im back in Australia, expect great ones :).
Back to being offline…
Once again the day was split in two’s.
I spent the earlier half of the day with Albert at Danshui for lunch – small things as we have not had the chance to visit Danshui yet.
Dinner was with my eldest aunty’s family and my second eldest aunty and uncle along with a family friend, and mum and Albert of course.
To celebrate my eldest aunty's birthday 🙂
Lazy day today, kinda.
Went to visit an Australian family friend who have also come back to Taiwan for the holidays.
We had lunch at a er.. how to say, like “traditional”/”signature” food place.
Old liquor licenses.
