Road to Recovery: Ep4 – Decisions

On the last episode of Road to Recovery I got my bandages off to reveal a weird shaved left knee.

So today was my specialist follow-up (as opposed to the last one which was a general hospital follow-up) to discuss my left knee situation.

Not much to say really, just a matter of weighing out whether or not I should do surgery and when. Either way I still have to deal with the dang cooling off period!

#1PaD14 – 2014 in Snaps!

At the beginning of January in 2014 (precisely 7th of Jan :P) I decided I’ll try taking a photo a day for the year to capture a moment/highlight/lowlight/food for the day and see how it all looks by the end of the year.

It didn’t take long before it to become a daily habit.

So here’s the write-up to accompany it!

I’ll kick it off with the first picture of 2015 (should’ve changed the hashtag, ah well..):

Road to Recovery: Ep1 – Knock Out

As I left the office on the 17th of December 2014 my friend offered me one piece of advice (not sure if he was trolling but I’ll take it):

Think happy thoughts, because it’ll be the first think you think about when you wake up.

I guess it was better than the other advice I got:

Make sure they mark the right knee.

Gosh!

First thing to do after waking up?

Road to Recovery: Prelude

It’s currently 1:03am, technically the day before my surgery. Currently listening to a cover of Eyes Nose Lips on repeat.

I have been tossing up a bit as to whether or not I should keep a journal of my “experience” going through my first surgery (even if it’s just arthroscopic surgery). At the same time I have been wanting to write-up something for this blog since I haven’t touched it for a while and I also missed my NBA write-up this year – slightly superstitious because every time I write it up something shitty always happens to my Bulls 😦

So here we go, the write-up of my Road to Recovery.

S01E5: Le Food & Le Drink: Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup (Recipe)

You’ll have to excuse me for this post because the last recipe I wrote up was in primary school as part of those class exercises. Probably for Fairy Bread or something (the best).

Something a bit different this time for this series of food posts; a recipe. I think most of us feel like a homely meal is always the best despite the great food that’s out there. Food brings back memories and it’ll always have that link.

For me, a good bowl of Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup from mum has always been one of my favourite dishes and it would always be exciting when she cooks it. However it’s been years since she’s last cooked this and I don’t think she’ll be doing it again anytime soon so.. she’s tried passing it onto me!

S01E04: Le Food & Le Drink: Hartsyard (AKA go vertical!)

Better write this up. So before semester 2, 2014 (just before July?) started 3/4 of the nom nom crew visited Newtown to roll dice at trying to get a table at Hartsyard. Mad fail. E had a look afterwards to try book online and the earliest date we could find was like 3 months later.. I guess that means it’s just as good as Tetsuya’s then.

S01E03: Le Food & Le Drink: Tokonoma (AKA pro foodbloggers only)

I have been holed up in my little bunker at home for awhile. I feel like my skin hasn’t been graced with the presence of sunlight for awhile now. It’s been a pretty tough week as well, one of the longer ones recently.

I have an assignment deadline looming over me with ones that have larger weighting in queue.. the 2nd half of this semester is going to be a real test of will. I feel like my games are starting to talk to me – “play me, play me..” or my sport equipment whispering, reminding me to exercise and making me feel guilty..

Ah food.. you’re the only one that understands me.

So E organised this deal for Tokonoma today, which was a good opportunity to catch up with the cafe/food buddies.
